Why does the heroine
in Brace for Impact have 2 names?
Flight Attendant Lori
and Paix Allcot are one in the same person. She changed her name to hide from
someone. Who? Read the excerpt below.
Warning – slight sexual
content
Guy
unscrewed the wine cap then reached for two coconuts and poured some wine into
one. "'Ere. A beautiful crystal wine glass for a beautiful woman."
Paix
flicked her finger on the edge of the shell. It thunked. "Yes, the ring of
true crystal. Cheers."
He
raised his shell and tapped hers. "Salut." He shifted back
against the palm and tapped the sand next to him. "Come, snuggle in 'ere.
We will talk, drink wine and—"
Make
love? She tugged her cushion next to his and leaned against
his shoulder. Her nipples tightened at the thought of his mouth sucking on
them, tickling them with the tip of his tongue.
"So
what do you want to talk about? Your brother? Or somet'ing happier? Kittens? Or
how sexy I h'am?"
She
looked out toward the wreckage. The waves splashed against the side, rocking it
on its perch. She inhaled a shaky breath. "My brother is such a wonderful
guy. When…my ex started stalking me. He made him stop. I don't know how.
Something in my brother's eyes told me not to ask what he did. People
change."
"Your
brother?"
"No,
my ex. He was so much fun when we were dating. He took me surfing, out to
fabulous dinners, romantic strolls along the beach. Then... then...he just… Why
are people so deceitful? I thought he was a wonderful man. Not a disgusting
pervert. Our entire time together was a lie?"
Paix
felt the shudder in Guy's body. She glanced up.
He
grimaced and said, "Well then, this is really gonna make your day."
Brace for Impact
This
is the release of the single story taken from the Crashing into Love box set.
What could be
simpler than a routine plane trip from Toronto, Canada to Caracas, Venezuela
for a rookie flight attendant and a sexy R.C.M.P. officer?
But Fate had
other intentions.
After leaving a
disastrous marriage, Paix Allcot begins a new career as a flight attendant. The
romance of travel plus the desperate need to be on any other continent other
than the one her ex is on seems like a dream job. For the first time, Paix is
no longer a trainee and the passengers in economy class are under her care.
Especially the handsome passenger seated in 36C.
Guy Lapierre,
undercover officer, is following a vicious human-trafficker. He has little time
for relationships. Too many innocent lives are at stake. But when the plane
crashes and Guy is stranded on a tropical island, he is forced to work with
Paix to survive until he discovers that the man he is tracking is Paix's older
brother.
Can a pink bra
and a hot night on the side of a volcano save the relationship and their lives?
Review - Daryl Devore's
book was fantastic also it was probably one of my favorites of the set. I was
crying at the end thinking the worst but it turned out great.
